From Mozart`s ever popular Eine Kleine Nachtmusik we will take in Mendelssohn`s stunning Octet and the string serenades by Dvorak, Tchaikovsky and Elgar not forgetting Grieg`s Holberg Suite. English composers made an important contribution to the string orchestra and we will finish with familiar works by Holst, Vaughan Williams and Warlock.
